Access:
(from Paris) TGV from Paris-Montparnasse to Rennes (2 hours, ~EUR120 round-trip) and connections by bus Rennes-Le Mont Saint-Michel (1 hour, ~EUR12 one-way). The bus station is across the road from the Rennes train station - we found the front entrance was closed when we got there but you can go around to the back where the actual bus stops are and you can purchase the tickets on the coach

A good choice for a one day getaway from Paris. We only stayed their during the day however if you have the chance to stay for the night illumination, it should be just as pretty as what we could see on postcards.
