Historic Roman Catholic Marian Cathedral of French Gothic architecture
387 steps to climb to the top of the South Tower
Famously featured in Victor Hugo's novel 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame', and also in the musical 'Notre-Dame de Paris'
Comments:
For visitors wishing to climb up the tower, the entrance is located outside at the left of the cathedral.  There was a bit of a queue though as they only allow groups of 20 people every 10 minutes to ascend the tower.  The hike up was pretty exhausting though as there was only room for one person to move through, it was difficult to stop to rest as you will hold up the people behind you.
The eerie feel of the Gothic architecture with the gargoyles & chimeras was what I liked about this place, which makes our imaginations run away to the fictional world...even looking back at the photos reminds be of Batman's Gotham City.

the cafe just across the street where we bought coffee to drink while waiting in line...
