Comments:
If you haven't been to the Blue Lagoon, then you haven't been to Iceland!
The water temperature is from 37-39°C (98-102°F) and is not excessively hot like Japanese hot springs where you need to jump out for a rest after 10 minutes or so. We stayed in the lagoon for a couple hours without jumping out, and played around with the Silica mud in the water which you can find at the bottom of some parts of the lagoon, or from the wooden boxes there for guests to apply to the face and body. You can also purchase the silica mud at the Blue Lagoon skin care stores (also available at the airport).
Restaurant dining at the lagoon is also very decent.
There is a Clinic Hotel at the Blue Lagoon offering accommodation, however we stayed at the Northern Light Inn which is the only accommodation available by the area. Check website for details: http://www.northernlightinn.is/index.htm
We stayed at the new wing and was nice and clean. The staff will drive the guests to and from the lagoon (you can just call the Inn from Blue Lagoon and they will come and pick you up). They will also drive guests to the airport as well.
