HAL YAMASHITA : contemporary Japanese fine dining at Tokyo Midtown in Roppongi.
うかい鳥山 (UKAI TORIYAMA): located further away from Tokyo city - there are other branches in Tokyo that's part of the same 'Ukai' group however this one has the traditional Japanese setting where you get to dine in individual villas.  Features Japanese style Charcoal Grilled Chicken courses. Near Mt. Takao.)

居酒屋 Izakaya
1. 逢坂 (Ohsaka) : a hole-in-the-wall basement izakaya in Higashi-Azabu (東麻布).  Very fresh sashimi - first time I had baby squid sashimi that tasted that good!
2. ビストロ 三十五段屋 (Bistro SANJUUGO-DAN YA) : you need to climb down 35 steps to the basement of a hotel building to reach the place (hence the name 'sanjuugo-dan' meaning 35 steps in Japanese).  Lively staff.  Menu mostly consisted of Japanese fusion dishes.

(others: 新日の基 "ANDY's"(shinhinomoto ANDY's), 厳 (Iwao), がらり GALALI権八 (Gonpachi))

寿司 Sushi
1. 神田 江戸っ子寿司 (KANDA EDOKKO SUSHI) : all time favourite sushi place that's cheap and tasty.  Many branches scattered around near the Kanda (神田) JR train station.  Uni & ikura sushi is always served overflown.

2. Roti : swordfish burger
3. Union Square Tokyo : Wagyu burgers - only on the lunch menu, however the manager helped to check with the kitchen if they could cater for our dinner exception for this burger craving we had before we sat down inside, and they were happy to do it for us except with an additional cost since it was for dinner.
